Play Sculpture

Playground equipment doesn’t have to be plastic or unsightly. It can be sculptural, contemporary and made of concrete. Our play sculptures are hand sculpted and designed to meet play equipment codes. With no limitation to scale or design, we produce iconic park play features.

At Burke Mountain Pioneer Park, Wavestone was given the challenge to create a safe piece of play equipment that could double as a courtyard centerpiece. Our solution was simple - approach the aesthetics as you would an art work and follow play equipment codes. To meet the criteria for playground codes we polished the concrete and softened edges, did not exceed height restrictions and installed a soft resilient rubber flooring. Instead of monkey bars and a plastic slide, Burke Mountain has a playable park icon.
